Weather

If you like the cold and no sun than Barranquilla is definitely not your city. The weather in Barranquilla is a hot and humid 32C most of the year. However during the months of November and April could be considered Barranquilla’s winter with cool breezes, and the locals exclaiming how cold it is! During the wet season the cities lack of drainage system causes the city to flood and produce arroyos (streams). Although while there you may come across locals playing in the streams (riding doors down hills) it is advisable to stay out of the flood water as the current can become very strong quickly, to the point of pushing busses and cars around.

Below is an example of one of the flash floods in Barranquilla, 14/05/2011.
